The Greer-Heard Point-Counterpoint Forum in Faith and Culture is a program of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The Forum is designed to provide a venue in which respected scholars of differing opinions dialogue on critical issues in religion, science, philosophy, and/or culture from their differing perspectives.
The Greer-Heard Point-Counterpoint Forum is made possible by the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. William and Carolyn (nee Greer) Heard. It is named in honor of their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Heard also endowed the Greer-Heard Chair of Faith and Culture at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS).
The inaugural Greer-Heard Point-Counterpoint Forum took place in 2005 and featured a dialogue between N.T. Wright and John Dominic Crossan on The Resurrection of Jesus. Other speakers included William Lane Craig, Craig Evans, Gary Habermas, R. Douglas Geivett, Ted Peters, and Charles Quarles.
